Put videos from youtube from handycam?

i have a sony handycam. i put the dvd in my laptop and decrypt it with dvd decrypter but it wont let me watch it if i put it anywhere else but on the hard drive. like if i put it in " my videos" it wont play. i just need to know if i can move it to my videos and then i should be able to put it on youtube after that
