Are these cats out to get me(serious question)?

There have always been stray cats around my apartment building and they have never caused me any problems. Some time ago some new cats came around and for the past few months they have been around my car a lot. One day I pulled into the parking lot and there was this one cat that seemed to be waiting for me. I looked at it for a few seconds and got out. The cat appeared to be scowling and anxious for me to leave my car, like he was going to carjack me. This has been going on for awhile now. This past weekend the cats got...aggressive. I went outside my door and there were feathers there. I know, just coincidence...until I saw more feathers and a mangled wing right next to my car. I know they were sending a message. What is the appropriate action here? I am not an animal hater but I feel I must fight back.
