Is it legal to coerce somebody to drop a restraining order by using eviction as a threat?

i recently got a restraining order on my room mates because they were threatening me. now my landlord is telling me that if i dont drop the restraining order, he will evict me, eventhough i have done nothing wrong and always pay rent on time. he said if i drop the case i can stay but if i dont he will evict me. is that legal?
